You know you`re an Au pair in AUSTRALIA when..

Das hab ich per Zufall im Internet gefunden und fand es seeehr passend:

You know you`re an Au pair in AUSTRALIA when..

..everybody is greeting you with "G`day mate" or "Hi.How are you" and of course you can`t agree fast enough because you still not expect everyone to greet you with a question how you feel today

..you spent all you`re money in shops and you have still nothing to wear

..spending 100 $ on a weekend isn`t a big deal for you

..you say everyday to yourself you will start to save money

..you drive over 30 minutes to meet someone and you still think it`s not far

..tea is you`re big meal instead of lunch

..you have to admit to mistakes you never did or put the blame on you day for day

..you're sure you don't want own kids within the next 100 years

..you've learned what it means to be patient

..you know that you should never SHAKE A BABY!!!

..you're ready to drink anytime of the day

..you have to understand that you`re not having access to clubs if you`re wearing jeans

..you have to wear a jumper when it`s 24 degrees..brr cold..

..you start to think that every sort of bread is like buttertoast

..you start copying "please wait a minute" and don`t mean it either

..you start getting in the "easy going - mood"

..you feel much relaxter than before even if you`re really stressed

..the kids call you mum cause you spend too much time with them

..you really know what ups and downs are

..you notice what a great invention msn, icq and skype are

..you can't live without a web cam anymore

..you spend half of the day in the internet

..you walk trough the city and see a Subway, McDonalds or Hungry Jacks on every corner

..you leave somewhere saying TAKE CARE to each and everyone

..you are ALWAYS tired, even when you sleep

..you haven`t even time to sleep

..you don`t see stop signs anymore

..you getting used to roundabouts.what the hell are crossroads??

..you freak out thinking about how to drive on the right side of the streets when you`ll come back to Germany

..it`s ok that strangers greeting you and people who are not seem familiar are chatting with you

..you explain to you`re kids that "Scheiße" isn`t a bad word

..you are telling about "YOU`RE" children

..every time you say you are from Germany, they say either "I know someone who knows someone whose brother-in-law/neighbour/haircutter has been to Germany

..you say a thousand times "can you clean up your room please?"

..you look in the fridge the fridge is full and you have nothing to eat inside

..you have no idea how you'll ever get all your stuff back home

..everybody asks you "how long have you`ve been here?"

..you say things like „you got it“, „it's alright/ok“, „come on“, „go ahead“, „let's go“, „watch out“, „be careful“, „hold on“, „wait a minute“, „I'm coming“ all day long

..you forget german words and so you have to speak german and English mixed

..you realize you can't live without your Laptop anymore

..you have to be smiling and friendly all day, even if you feel like shit. cause pretending that everything is alright is what you’re supposed to do..

..you feel like you got 10 years older during your au pair year

..you wanna go home

..you wanna stay

..you miss your old friends

..you don't wanna leave your new friends

..you`re loving this special way of life

..you know you wannna come back to Australia one day
